The daily positivity was recorded at 1.19 per cent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 1.14 per cent, the data showed. The Covid case tally was recorded at 4,47,00,667.
With this, active cases now comprise 0.02 per cent of the total infections. The Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 98.79 per cent, the data showed. In the past 24 hours, 1,05,316 tests were conducted which brought the total number of tests to 92.07 crore. Recoveries surged to 4,41,61,922, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.
Over 220 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far, the health ministry informed.
On Thursday, India recorded a single-day rise of 1,300 new Covid cases, the highest in 140 days. PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting on Covid-19 and influenza to review the country’s preparedness to deal with the spike in the number of cases.
